This little girl had me laughing. She has the cutest personality and was funny. I loved to make her laugh by saying "BOYS HAVE COOTIES!!!" lol! Isnt she a doll? I didnt want to let her go home, she was so much fun! Thanks y'all!

Summertime

If you know me at all, you know my favorite season is Summertime! At our house we entertain a lot outdoors by the pool and we love to bar b que and have lots of gatherings!

One of the most fun things is each year I will decorate our yard in a different theme. Some years I go for a more Luau look, sometimes, I pick a color and go wild with it. (Blue or Lime Green) some years, I go more for a beach theme (which is my favorite.) Earlier this year I went to Hawaii and I got some nice things for the decks and patios including some Tiki masks.
But one of my favorite stores is Pottery Barn. They always have classy "beachy" decor for your home. This year they have lots of different Lanterns. Ive ordered some, but in the meantime I found these two here in town, while I wait for my shipment.
I got the center one at Pier 1 Imports http://www.pier1.com/ only $20.00 and the one on the right is from Hobby Lobby and its on sale for half price at only $8.50!

Then I added the candles and the sea shells.
I love Lanterns and Tiki torches, so at night the candles glow and the tikki torches and glow of the pool light is all that lights the yard.Its so romantic for a moonlight swim!

The best way to spend a Saturday...

Yesterday I got to do something I really enjoy doing. I got to photograph another Photographer! Its always fun to do that because they know what its like and they are usually very cooperative and great at picking out their clothes etc.

We shot these on one of my employees land and there were PELICANS in the water! PELICANS for crying out loud!

We also shot Lindsay's portraits at the same time, so we were tag teaming. A few of her, a few of him, Her parents were so nice to let us shoot on their land, they've got acres and acres near the Red River It was a fun day!

MIGHTY LORENZO

What can I say about this young man named LORENZO.? You cannot stereotype this young man. Lorenzo is both strong and soft. Both Serious and Playful. Hes both Man and Childlike. Hes intimidating but loves the Lord .
Hes an amazing young man. No wonder his class voted him Homecoming King of the year 2010. Hes a God fearing young man with a loving family and tons of friends. Hes in PALS (which is an honor!) and a friend to everyone. Teachers like him as well as his peers. Hes a dedicated athlete but also a quiet gentle young man. In his football uniform when hes standing in front of you, he can put fear in your heart. I feel sorry for the other football players who had to take hits from him!. He is a giant of a man. He weighs over 300 lbs. He is a champion weight lifter. He has a great sense of Humour. But Mostly....He is Amazing.
Hes both a Lion and a Lamb. Hes a loyal, good friend to our son too.
And both my husband and I LOVE HIM.
We feel like hes a part of our family. I was honored to take his Sr. Portraits. I only have time to post this one now, but more will follow .(I have more sessions today.)He had so many schools interested in him and he got a full scholarship! There is no doubt in my mind that Lorenzo will do great things. Hes a Leader, hes a Christian, Hes a giver and hes inspiring. He'd make a great Pastor, a great Teacher, a great anything he decides to do.
Thanks Lorenzo, It was an honor.

I first met Monique a long long time ago when I photographed her wedding! Then I hired her sister to work for me, and that had to be about 13 or 14 years ago! Its so great when people value you as a photographer and wouldnt think of going to any other photographer. Shes awesome thats all i can say!
Shes a sweetheart and a very positive person.
I had a great time today and I crossed my fingers that the rain would stop and guess what it did! Not a drop fell on us!
We had a great time. Can you tell that Monique is due to have her baby in only 2 weeks?

FIRST PLACE NATIONAL CHAMPS on KFDX news!

Our son and his 9 teamates got inteviewed last night at KFDX tv, for winning the NATIONAL first Place Power Lifting Team! Our son Scott Dobbins is at the end talking about the WOLRD record he set. Our son is a WORLD CHAMPION

Our son traveled with 9 other boys to the APF (Amercian Powerlifting Federation) meet held in Alexandria, LA this weekend. He was hoping to capture a National record and did just that. PLUS A WORLD RECORD! His scores added up to the highest scores ever that a 17 year old boy in the 242 weight Class has ever lifted. 1725 lbs!
He set a National Bench press record of 441 lbs!

The team also captured the First Place National Trophy for their outstanding lifts. Included in the group were 8 Burkburnett boys, State Heavy Champ Lorenzo Barnes, Scott Dobbins, Ryne Cozby, Peter Loftus, Isaiah Terry, Sean Terry, Zach Romines and Kyle Frazier. Justin Thacker of Iowa Park and Cody Polk of WFHS also competed in the event.

The group of boys won 5 First place medals and 2 silver. Burk Senior Lorenzo Barnes won "Best Lifter" for the Heavy Platform totally 1880 lbs, with a National Record Squat of 804 Lbs.

First place medal winners were Thacker, Barnes, Dobbins, Loftus and Polk. Winning silver were Cozby and Frazier.
Were so proud of him and all his hard work and his team as well. He trains hard and always gives God the Glory. Way to go boys and we love you Scotty!

HI y'all, how are you guys loving this rain today? Since its bleary and gray, I decided i wanted to post something happy and cheerful. This is one of my assistants McKayla, We shot this one day last month at the Botanical Gardens in Ft. Worth TX. I just love this shot. Shes a great girl. I know that I can be a tough boss, but I really appreciate you guys. Both, she and Lindsay keep me going and I really do appreciate them both! I'm excited to be taking Lindsay's Sr. Pictures soon!

Happy Hadley!

Today I got to photograph sweet little Hadley Jane! What beautiful big blue eyes she has! Its amazing how you can see a child's personality so clearly even at the tender age of one. Hadley is brave, extroverted, sweet and fun. She took to me and my studio very quickly, and never got fussy! She holds the record for lasting in a good mood the longest! What a sweet baby girl! I joked with her mom that she is a Pisces and that's where her good nature comes from (I'm a Pisces too.)

What a wonderful day I had today with her! Here's a sneak peek of my favorites. Usually I only show 1 or two but I couldn't help myself so here's 5! Her Aunt Melody and Cousins have been long time clients and wonderful little angels too. This little girl is one lucky little girl! Thanks Mom for letting me play with her today!

Hawaiian Seaside Romance

A few weeks ago I had the privilege of photographing a beautiful wedding in Oahu Hawaii. I posted the wedding album of it back on my blog a few weeks ago. I was there for a week and one day before the wedding, I got to photograph alongside the amazing Dave Miyamoto a beautiful Oceanside tablescape. The amazing Designer and Florist of Honolulu, Debbie Hemingway owner of Designs by Hemingway, designed this lovely seaside table at the Bayer Estate. Dave does a lot of photography for various magazines in Hawaii and this was his job, however, he let me be a 2nd shooter on this event. Shes a super talented designer originally from Texas! I am going to be going back to Hawaii this year, I'll reveal more about it soon! Im so excited!

Dez Bryant the Newest Dallas Cowboy!

As Most of you guys know, my son loves football. Hes been a starter on the varsity team since he was a sophomore. And he plays both Offense and Defense and doesnt get much rest during games! (IRON MAN) But he loves it. So he was really excited when I told him on my flight back from California I was sitting next to a football player and his dad. A really nice young man.

I could tell by looking at him that he was an athlete. I struck up a conversation and sure enough found out he was a college ball player. But not just any College player, but ranked very high as one of the TOP BALL PLAYERS and will be going into the NFL draft as one of the highest ranked Wide Receivers! WOW! He was flying around to 12 different cities talking to NFL teams. His name is Dez. I thought that sounded familiar and then i realized he played for Oklahoma State. Dez BRYANT! He was so down to earth and really nice. (the Best always are.) His dad was very nice too and i asked his dad to take a few shots of me and Dez for our son.

I think this young man will be a Big NFL star after talking to his dad for a while. Dez was impressed at how much weight our son can lift. He said that was very impressive for a 17 year old (430 Lb bench, 700 lb squat, 550 lb deadlift.) He said to tell our son good luck and to keep training as hard as he can and to not give up.

What a great kid!

UPDATE. DEZ WAS CHOSEN BY THE DALLAS COWBOYS in the NFL DRAFT! I knew he'd make it! Way to go Dez!

Wisteria wonderland!

This is the roof of one of our Arbors. I planted Wisteria about 14 years ago and I love how it blooms in the spring. I sit in our porch swing with my husband or grandson and the perfume is intoxicating! I love when the blooms fall and cover our patio with purple flowers! Its like being in Hawaii!
Its really the simple things isn't it?
Heres our Dinning Room. I pruned some branches for a beautiful centerpiece for our dinning room.

My grandson Aaron Scott

We have 2 grandchildren, Tristan and the youngest is Aaron Scott. Named after his 2 uncles. He came to visit with his mom for a few days and we had such a wonderful visit. They live in Justin now and are so much closer. Grandma got to cuddle, spoil, shop and photograph her little angel Aaron. I was there the day he was born (In Odessa) and have enjoyed him so much. I wish you could hear his precious voice. He has the sweetest little voice. and he talks up a storm. He will be 3 May 14th! I cant believe it. What is so cute is he cant stand to be dirty. If he gets one drop of milk or dirt on him, he has to take the clothing off. Hes really funny too.
I had a great visit with him! He left this morning at 7:30 to go back home and to spend Easter with his dad and brother and mom and cousins. I miss you already "PEANUT". His brother and parents call him "Ducky". Being a "GLAM-MA" is great!
