I just got home tonight from my daddy's birthday. It rained on me, and I hydroplaned a few times. I drove the 700 mile trek alone (since our son had football practice and husband had to stay home with him.)It was so great to see my dad and mom and sister and brother and cousins whom I haven't seen in years! My brother cooked an awesome meal of Ribs, Chicken quarters, hot links, German sausage and Italian sausage. My mom did a lot of work to make this party so special. Thank you MOM!!!!
We haven't all been together in a long time.
My dad is still funny and stubborn, but I guess hes too old to change that now. (hes 80!). haha.
I especially had fun with my cousin Andy. He has the most outgoing personality and can do the funniest impersonations.
My gift to my dad was a customized music CD I made for him of songs that I remember him singing all the time while I grew up. It took me weeks to think of all the songs he used to sing to me and around the house. They included songs like "Peggy Sue" by Buddy Holly, "Hound Dog" by Elvis, "Hey Good Looking" by Hank Williams Sr. etc. 28 songs in all. They were all songs that he would sing to since I was a little girl. I had songs from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.
I also made a custom DVD cover for the CD called "UNCLE FUZZYS OLDIES BUT GOODIES!"
He loved it.
I love gifts from the heart. They are the best!
As I was driving home I was listening to Christian Music and singing at the top of my lungs. I love AIR 1 http://www.air1.com/ and crying and singing. That's one good thing about being alone in a car for 5 hours, no one cares about you singing and they cant change the radio station. LOL!
I miss you Dadsy and everyone already!
I'm enjoying having the windows open tonight and listening to the rain and smelling the rain and being back home with my family. I cant believe my dear ole dadsy is 80. He seems so young. Oh about his cake, he has the kookie habit of calling us "Creepy". He uses it as a name. Like "hello creepy!" I dont know how it started but hes always done it.
I love my dad so much and it was such a great time. I miss him already. He is an amazing man.
I'm so blessed.......

Me strangling my nephew! My beautiful sister Angela and her 2 children!
My brother with the BBQ he lovingly cooked for hours!

It was DELISH!My crazy and fun cousin Andy and my nephew Preston!
PS I added a song here called "Daddys Hands" I love it because it talks about how Daddsy hands worked so hard they bled, and my dads did. I dont ever remember him complaining though. He is the toughest man I know.
He would dab "mecurochrome" on his cuts and keep going. He is really something...
