Well, we are back from our Saturday night fun (on Sunday at 1:00 pm)
It was a great night. I forgot to post yesterday before I left that the place we were going was Vernon's Summers Last Blast Cruise Night!
Wow, it was fun. Its not the first time we've gone, but some of you who know me, know that I drove in the cruise about 3 or 4 years ago when I first got my 1951 Truck but then after taking photos in Windthorst, I blew a hole in the engine. It was the ORIGINAL ENGINE and I was so sad about that!
I have been searching for a new engine for a while (I did not want to HOT ROD it out and put a NEW ENGINE) I wanted something similar to what it came wit
So we finally found a great guy here in town, Jeff Cullar. He owns Cullar Auto & Tire on Scott street. Jeff is a great guy and he and his employees have been working hard on my truck the past few months. They put in an amazing engine (a 235 straight 6, with a custom made valve cover, glasspak exhaust, converted it to a 12 volt system, flushed my radiator, painted the engine. On order are some Chrome Mags with white wall radial tires and I bought a new radio (that looks like an Old Radio, but its new!) which hooks up to a MP3 player or iPOD too!
She's so adorable now!
The reason I was waiting to tell you all where I was going was I wanted to get the paint buffed and waxed before I took a photo!
We had such a great time! I cruised the first 3 laps with a half a ton of kids in the back, 1,100 pounds we added up.) Lorenzo, Seth, Robert, Kari, Randy and Scott. (they are all football players and weigh over 2oo lbs each, (and 1 weighs 310!) So Ihad some serious weight in the bed of my truck,. haha) They sat in folding chairs and I did doughnuts in parking lots and blasted music! Then my honey took over driving and we cruised a few more times.
It was so neat to see all the cars and trucks, I love the old 1950s stuff the best.
Then this morning, we went to the Car show. WOW. I left my camera locked up in our other car and i wish I had brought it with me.

There was a truck almost identical to mine! And it was in the show. Next year, mine will be in the Car show on Sunday.
The great thing about my truck "LUCILLE" is that she is almost all original! Interior is all original, the seat covers are even the Original seat covers!
The paint inside, etc.
But I may have to trick her out, just a little. Ive been thinking of having the interior painted a CREAM white and getting cloth seat covers and redoing the ceiling area too.
Also, Jeff wants to put Air conditioning into her too and I'm not opposed to that. ha ha.
It was a great time, and seeing everyone was so fun! I guzzled a lot of cold water and Dr. Peppers all while driving a "3 on the Tree" transmission loaded with teenagers! haha We had a great time, with everyone. Thanks guys! It was fun, see you all next year!
