Time to win a State Championship!

Well, its that time of the year again. The Burkburnett Boys Powerlifting Team is headed to the State Competition in Abilene today. (Actually they left Thursday) 7 boys are going and was featured on the front page of the Burkburnett Informer Star.

Our son, Scott, Tommy Dalke, Lorenzo Barnes, Mike Deggavich, Presont King Micheal Askew and Ryne Cozby.

These boys are amazing! They train so hard and they have won first place in several of their meets this year. Heres a photo of them at the REGIONAL MEET where they won 2nd place!

They range in weight from 125 lbs to 315 lbs, and are in several different weight categories, but one thing they all have in common. THEY ARE TOUGH STRONG BOYS! I'm so proud of all of them. They are like extended to family to my husband and I. They are all so dedicated and train very hard and even go down on weekends to the gym on their own without the coach and put in the sweat, effort, pain and hard work to be the best.

Our son has a couple of competitors in the state that will give him a run for his money, but the fact that he is only a sophomore and these boys are Seniors gives me a little consolation that if he doesn't place first, he was up against men and hes still just a 16 year old boy. But it Will be fun! We have almost our whole family coming from all over the state to see Scott and his friends lift! Its going to really be something to see.

I wont be online again until Sunday most likely, so I'll keep y'all posted! Here is a video that my husband shot of our son the other day in practice, (The video quality is low, it was shot with a cell phone video.) But in practice he squatted 650 lbs. (He squatted 705 last year, but hes lost some strength due to loosing 30 lbs recently in body weight. I hope these boys bring back a State Championship for Burkburnett High! No matter what, we are soooo proud of all of them! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEPBAzmH9q0
