SPRING HAS SPRUNG!

Wow, with the warm weather and sunny days, I'm just feeling very froggy! By that I mean, HAPPY. I love SPRING. I am trying to lure the Robins to build nests in my yard! What do Robins like to eat? I will be so thrilled if I have another Robins nest this year. Last year I felt like I hit the lottery when I found the first one! Heres a photo my son took last year of it!
<----------------------------

We built this house 14 1/2 years ago and planted all the trees and bushes, and plants, and ivy and when a Bird decides to take up residence in one of your trees (or on top of your Pergola) its just so sweet! (I'm funny like that.)

Those 3 blue eggs were like Jewels to me! I almost had a conniption fit when I found them! So I'm crossing my fingers and hoping! Every morning I am waking up to hearing birds. It is so loud and they start at around 6 or 6:30, and I wonder then, Why DO I LIKE BIRDS???
Then I see them. Hopping around, drinking water from my bird bath, Playing, Flying, chirping, eating the seeds I put out, Just being birds and I'm so happy inside.

I guess it goes back to when I was little and I visited my grandmother Hazel in East Texas and she had HUGE PINE TREES ALL OVER HER BACKYARD, I saw my first Cardinal! I was about 9 years old then and I spied it through their den window!

I hollered "GRANDMA! THERES A BIRD! A RED ONE!" she looked at it calmly, like it was nothing, and said "yea, its a Cardinal!" To me it was amazing. A bird, in my favorite Color. Red. (Just like if I colored it with my favorite Crayon.) WOW! Then the next morning, when I was in the "little girls room" I saw a BLUE JAY!
A BLUE BIRD! I jumped off the pot! and ran screaming "NOW THERES A BLUE ONE TOO!!!!!
and he had a MOHAWK!"
Ever since then Ive loved birds. I try not to let anyone know about this, because its sort of silly, but I cant help it. I grew up in West Texas, where there was nary a tree, few and far between, so a Bird is something precious to me, and so are trees. (The only birds i saw were Sparrows and Vultures and sometimes Hawks! Lovely....)

In fact right near Odessa is a town called (I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP) NO TREES , TEXAS! Okay, they made it into one word, i think its spelled "Notrees" Its 21 miles from Odessa. And its desolate. Just cactus, mesquites, skunks, tarantulas, and rattlesnakes. Not fit for an Irish German little girl like me to grow up near.

I need my trees, I need my birds, I need my flowers... Okay, enough rambling.... Back to work.
Got lots more pictures to take!
Enjoy your SPRING BREAK! I certainly am!
