My daughter and I decorated their Christmas tree this evening! We had a great time, and we even had a small cute tree for her two boys too. Isn't it fun decorating for Christmas? I always love it, espcially when Im with people that I love! The cute Elf shoes came from "THE LAST STRAW" one of the best stores in town, that I love! Its on Kemp street. Some of the others came from HOBBY LOBBY and there are even a few items from the Dollar store! They actually have some cute things there this year. And to all a Goodnight...

My daughters Vintage home Update.

Photobucket
Here's an update on our daughters home. As you might not know, they moved here back in August with their two boys and got an adorable little cottage here in Wichita County. Its got 3 bedrooms and one bath and its a cute starter home with a big yard and big pecan and sycamore trees. My daughter has two boys, and she is a stay at home mom. Her husband works in a factory here in town and they are on a very tight budget. So me being the Bargain shopping mom I am, have been having a blast helping them to decorate their home in a fun thrift store, flea market Vintage style!
Here's some of the fantastic finds we've come across.
If you have any questions about how you can get the great deals click on the title of the post here called "MY DAUGHTERS VINTAGE HOME UPDATE" and leave me a comment. Ill be happy to answer you. My goal was to decorate their home as inexpensively as possible, yet still showing their personalities and making it a colorful and fun home for all 4 of them!
Ive altered these images in photo shop to give them a fun vintage tone, the colors are the actual colors but retro fun color shifting. If you want to see the true full living colors just ask and ill post them too! Its a happy small home full of color and lots of love!
Thanks for looking!

Photobucket
A lot of the furniture is from GOODWILL, or the Salvation Army stores here in town. They are a treasure trove of good deals. They are usually clean and in great shape! I got her sofa for only $49.!
Photobucket

Photobucket The table was a gift from one of their nice neighbors and the chairs came from TARGET. I love these chairs! The Painting is of New York City, Times Square and came from ROSS.
Photobucket
I found the awesome "CRACKED ICE" 50s dinning table at the GOodwill store for only $35.00. I almost died when i saw it! The chairs are from a huge Vintage Flea Market in Dallas at Markethall. I bargained with the lady and got all 4 for only $45.00
Photobucket This is a real radio from the 1950s. It has "TUNERS" so it takes a few minutes to warm up. But once it does warm up it plays fantastic. This is my favorite thing in their home. I got it in Dallas at a Vintage Flea Market Radio dealers. Oh the stories this radio could tell?
Photobucket
I got this small hutch from Craiglist from a neighbor behind me! The dishes in it are mostly FIESTA WARE, from Ebay. The finds on top are from local thrift stores in town downtown off Scott street. Each one is a treasure!
Photobucket
Photobucket The canisters are from the downtown antique store across from the Wichita Theatre. and the Mixer is from a great antique store in DENTON.

Meeting and Photographing Sarah Palin!

Sarah P Dixie
What a great night it was at the beautiful Majestic Theatre in downtown Dallas last night. Alaskan Govenor Sarah Palin was the speaker, along with Texas Governor Rick Perry, and Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert, and Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott. But of course all eyes were on Sarah!
I was so excited to be one of the photographers at the event for Heroic Media! Security was very high with Secret Servicemen and bodyguards everywhere! Getting to tell Govenor Palin to look this way and count to three was thrilling! The camera loves here and lots of people were on hand to meet with her. I heard that people paid over $2,000.00 per ticket to spend a few seconds with her and to get a photo with her. After the photos, she gladly posed with me for a couple of photos and we chatted briefly. She asked me some questions which took me by surprise! Wow, she actually cared about my opinion as a military wife! She told me to tell my husband, thanks for his service for his serving in the US Airforce these past 26 years and she has a way of making you feel like she is there just for you. It was a great night. She had everyones attention and told us about her daughter Bristol and the birth of her son and being a grandma. wow. Many thanks to my friend Tim for allowing me the privledge!

Stunning Sierra!

As you guys might know, our son plays football. In fact hes on the field 95% of the time. He gets thirsty and tired, and one of the trainers who brings him water is an aweosme young lady named Sierra! Sierra is always smiling and loves being a trainer. She's always in a positive mood and happy in whatever she does! I love being around her. Shes just got that calming effect on people. She's also funny and playful and makes me laugh. Shes as they say "Has an old soul"! I love that about her!

I had such a great time photographing her,she brought her friend Shelby and the two of them cracked me up.
I cant wait for her 2nd shoot at her home with her horse all and all her outdoor stuff! Thanks Sierra! You rocked that cute blue dress and boots!

From the Archives...

McKayla1689
I was going through all my wedding files this past year and I would have to say this is my favorite. I have a Display in Sikes Senter Mall (and have had it for 7 years) and am adding new images to it, and wanted to put 2 or 3 Bridal portraits on it. And just ordered an enlargement of this image.

I was so fortunate to get to study with Amazing Orange County California wedding photographer Jessica Claire this past April and this image reminds me of something she would do. This young lady used to work for me, and we shot this in Ft. Worth at the Botanical Gardens. We actually stayed so late we got locked inside and she jumped over the fence, when the security guard found us and showed us in fact, the gate wasn't locked, it just appeared to be locked! lol! I cant wait for Charity and Ryans wedding in Dallas this weekend!

Just wanted to share this image with you. I did her makeup and lashes and supplied her jewelry, I even made her bouquet myself! The dress was her wedding gown and she just wanted some new portraits in her gown since her photographer didn't get any of her alone.
Have a great Tuesday!

The Ugly Desk Project

Ugly Desk
Saturday I spent some time with my daughter. Ive been so busy and havent been able to spend some quality time with her. We found this little chalk board desk at a thrift store and I fell in love.! I think I had one when I was a kid! It was tagged only $3.99 so of course I had to get it. The chalk board was in pretty bad shape but the frame was perfect and stable (i had to tighten a few phillips screws is all.)
So I went to work on it and here it is!
I sanded it all down really well with FINE sandpaper #100 GRIT.
The chalkboard paint is from LOWES and i put two coats on it with a Poly brush and sanded between coats. I also recommend using a plastic attachment for spray paint so your finger wont get sore!
I think it turned out cute! I cant wait for Aaron to see it tomorrow!

How to turn a Photo in ENERGY!

How to Turn a Photo into 175 Hours of Solar Power
Like Robin to Batman, your camera is your trusty sidekick, always by your side.

You’ve dreamed of the day you could help mankind with Photon (that’d be your camera’s superhero name). And, guess what? That day is finally here.

Simply upload a photo to Flickr through GE’s Ecomagination Photo Project site and tag with “Wind,” “Water,” or “Light.” (BTW, I love Flickr!)

In turn, GE will donate:

4.5kW hours of wind energy for every wind photo
175 hours of solar power for every light photo
480 gallons of drinking water for every water photo
(They’re working with three charities to make it all happen.)

Cool, right? Your photos combined will build wind turbines to power clinics in rural Peru, give families in East Timor solar-powered lanterns, and build wells to provide clean water.

In other words, it’s an easy breezy way to turn your photos into positive action. World, meet the best photog super action team this side of Gotham City: You (and Photon).
UPLOAD A PHOTO HERE! This is really cool, let the page load first.
