DARING DEVIN!

BLue Devin
I first met Devin a few years ago when I photographed her Senior Portraits. I had heard that she was quite the singer back then, and knew that she would have to pursue that as a career because of all the great things I heard about her.
Now fast forward 3 years later and she is singing her heart out all around Texoma! She was one of the bands featured at the SAFB FREEDOM FEST along with Wade Bowen. Devin is such a sweetheart and fun girl. I had a great time with her. Shes so positive and upbeat and I had a great time with her and shes so great in front of the camera. Here are a few shots of her that I love! WOW! Remember her name, Devin Williams, because before long it will be as common as Faith Hill.

Enjoying the last of summer!

Above, left to right, Our Son Scott, grand dog Rocky, grandsons Tristan and Aaron Scott!
Things have been really crazy here, with school around the corner! Our daughter and son in law and their 2 children just moved back to Wichita Falls! We found an adorable house and I'm helping her to decorate. We got the oldest registered for school and football. My husband is still in Asia for another few days and Ive been able to hold everything together for 3 weeks including all the studio business, the household tasks, moving my daughter (I rented a u-haul trailer) etc. (As you guys may or may not know, we have no other family here. So Its just been me, and my husband and our son and so I have to be very independent and do a lot on my own the past 16 years.)
Last night we had a big dinner at our house with everyone here and our sons girlfriend brought her cute Shitzu over. and he is so funny and knows a lot of tricks. Everyone loves Rocky!
Sorry I haven't posted pics lately, i will when school starts next week! Have a beautiful Sunday everyone!

Her mom was a big help too with the shoot holding equipment and reflectors.! I fell in love with her cute dress, its crocheted on the top and ruffles on the bottom so adorable. What a natural beauty and she held up in the heat and didnt even break a sweat! Thanks Taylor, you made it easy on me!

in the bath...

dixie bath I wanted to share a couple of things with you guys. One is this awesome lotion. I get it at Tuesday morning, and it smells so terrific! and the other is this soap called Pangea Organics http://www.pangeaorganics.com/

I get it at
World Market. It comes in a container that has seeds in it and is biodegradable and flowers will grow! I love the scent Indian Green Tea with mint and rose petals.
I love to make up baskets with various goodies in them and put them in my bathroom and in our guest room when we have guests. Its like being in a nice hotel.

This has been quite a summer. Lots of visitors, lots of trips, lots of work and the grandsons have been here a lot. I just wanted to shoot a few items around our home and yard that I love. So when Jack Frost shows up, and its cold and the winds are blowing.. and the snow and ice are on the ground, I can have this little blog to go back to and warm up with and remember the joys of summer.
Hope you make the best of whats left of it!
And Happy Birthday to my friend Cyndie. We met in Jr. High and have been friends for 32 years! I love you Siss'r! To find out how I made my outdoor lounger cabana just shoot me an email. pdixie@sw.rr.com

I just had to throw in this shot, its our grandson down in the Hill country (near Fredericksburg swinging out of a tree at the Guadalupe River) Aint he cute?!

Summertime Schedule.

Hi, I just wanted to write you my dear "Dixie Blogstalkers" and let you know whats up here. It's summertime and since our son is a Senior now (our only son) and we have 2 wonderful grandsons Ive been making them a priority this summer.

I cut my schedule back and have been doing more for my family and less for my business. I love the saying "No one on their death beds ever said I wish i would of spent more time at the office." We love to travel and relax in the summer. My husband has a super stressful job at Sheppard AFB, as a pilot, instructor and he travels 25 weeks out of the year all over the world as well. Needless to say our time together is precious right now
.
Okinawa Dob
We went to a Japanese owned Portrait studio in Japan before moving to Wichita Falls. I too pay Photographers to take our portraits.(although Japanese studios are very very expensive! Much more so than US studios!) This is when Scott was 2 and our daughter was 13! Time flies!

Our only son is going to be a Senior this fall. The signs that he wont be around much longer all all around. mostly by the mail we receive from Universities wanting him to visit and the phone calls.Hes looking at A&M, Penn U, Georgia Tech, SMU, etc. etc. etc. his grades are top notch as are his football skills and we have less than a year left to be with him day in and day out.
The studio is still open 4 days a week and we have staff working, but we've slowed our roll down a bit with the high temp days and the lake calling us all. For 14 years I worked really hard every summer. Taking almost every wedding, family, high school senior who called. Ive been referring a lot of sessions because I know where Im needed right now. Im still shooting up to 9 sessions a week, just not the 20-25 that I once did for many many years.

Don't stop calling,we love you dear clients, but we intend to pick things back up in Sept and October and get going for Christmas with the full steam ahead mentality we've had for the past 14 years.
Thanks for understanding and following along. My husband is getting ready to go on a big trip to ASIA for the US Air Force and will be gone for a few weeks and hes going to go see our first home we had in Okinawa Japan while on business. I wish I could go! I miss those days of being a newly wed and living in our cute house on the hill overlooking the east China sea and the Islands off the beautiful island of Okinawa.

But alas, motherhood, grandma-hood and business owner-hood (haha) won't allow it.
I hope you all are having a wonderful summer and trying to take time for your families and friends.
It's truly my favorite time of the year!
thanks for listening,
Stay in focus!

The Lazy Days of Summer...

dixie dragon
I spied this little guy flying around my ivy, and he landed on an old park bench of mine. I love his colors! Doesnt he have the cutest face? He sat there for about 3 seconds and then he was off to another garden! I love what summer brings to our lives. The simple, calm and beautiful things of nature!
