My daughter and I keep finding fun things for her home at Flea Markets and thrift stores. We love things from the 70s or just happy things in general. Her colors are orange, yellow, lime green. Or you could say Lemon, tangerine and Avocado!
The 70s vase was $3.99, the Frame was $1.99 and the pinnochio was .99 Her house is so fun and happy!
This is the photo for the cover of the Burkburnett Program. It is the 4 Captains of our team with the littlest bulldogs (the midget team) I thought this was so sweet, I almost started crying! You should of seen how these little boys look up to these Seniors.!
Our son of course #75, #55 is Tyler McClellan, #11 is our Quarterback Canon Cornelius and #5 is Temi Ogunleye. We believe in you boys, lets get a W tonight!PS I dare anyone to watch the video, "the Boys of Fall" by Kenny Chesney on you tube and not just get a lump in your throat! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlXDo5WhQXI&ob=av3e
As some of you may know, my main specialty is HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR PORTRAITS. This is what I love to do the most. Wow, Friday night, we had a great game against Vernon. It was a nail biter. I will explain more soon. and add pictures. All I can say is we ARE SO PROUD OF THE PLAYERS. (and Coaches!) They won and it was on KFDX play of the week with Tobin McDuff. You know that feeling when you feel like your chest is going to burst open because you are so proud of someone?. Well thats how my husband and I feel about every single player of the Burk Bulldogs. I looked into their eyes Friday night, while on the sidelines and taking pictures and I saw something that gave me goosebumps. I saw a combination of determination, hope, extreme focus, and a whole lot of "WERE GONNA GET IT DONE!"
Over the years we've gotten to know these boys and we love them. I mean we love them like they are family. We've seen them sweat, pray, fight, overcome obstacles, never give up and yes even cry. We've watched those boys turn from boys to Men. We've cried with them and we've cheered with them. We will do it again and again.
Friday night they pulled together like a real team. Like men in battle. Like men who have that determination to work as a unit, a team and get it done.
They did in fact, get it done.
We believed in them, and they came through. Not for us, but they came through for themselves, their team and for each other.
Because the main lesson that playing football teaches you is this. To give it your all, and to dig down deep and find that strength that we all possess
and make it happen. Thanks Bulldogs for giving it your all. We are so proud of you boys, er i mean, MEN.Lets do it again next Friday night!!!
The young lady got the horse when she was 3 years old, I love it when kids get to grow up with their animals! Its so special.
I love this family! I first met the daughter and mom a few years back when Patti came in for Senior portraits. I had the honor today of getting to go onto their farm/ranch which has been in their family for over 100 years, and take a family portrait for them! It was so nice walking through out their home and seeing their daughters beautiful portraits that I photographed, gracing the walls of their home.
They have the most lovable dog, his name is Duke and he met me when I drove onto their property. What a cutie and so funny. Hes a great Labrador, loves to retrieve his ball and run and play and so funny.
We had all the elements, beautiful sunny weather, A beautiful family, gorgeous land, great animals, a photographers dream! Now if I can just get them to adopt me!
Thank you to the Brays for allowing me the privilege of taking your family portrait.
It was my pleasure!

Now 2010
THEN 1999Well as most of you know our only son is a Senior this year. If you know me, you know Im not taking it too well. I can honestly say that its been a pleasure raising this child of ours. He doesnt give us any problems. He is sweet, and funny and friendly and great. He is very concientous and a great kid. I guess if he had grown up wiht a brother he might of developed some meaness in him. Or he might be selfish, or he might be in trouble a lot. But hes not. He loves church. He loves the Lord, He loves his family and the worst I can say is that he leaves towels on the floor in his room. Thats it! He washes his car at least once a week, he irons his own clothes. He bathes his dog and he keeps his room picked up. But you guys have heard all about it before the past 4 1/2 years since i started this blog. Because you see, I cant stop bragging on him. I dont even apologize for it. In a world these days when there is so much negative, and so many bad influences, its amazing that kids can choose the right path. But ours did. The funny thing is we didnt shelter him at all. We let him make his own choices. We do have a curfew but we trust him. hes had a car since the day he turned 16 and he always comes home on time. He does his homework by him self and hes in the top 10 % of his class. Hes all district in Football and All state. Hes ... well there I go again. Im just having a hard time knowing that hes going away to school soon. I wish he would make me mad or something so I wouldnt miss him so much, but the truth is, I miss him already. I took some shots of him and his dog this afternoon after his Football teams dinner. Of course he hates having his pic made but he loves his dog. Hes had her since he was 6. Now hes about to turn 18 next month and she will be 12 next month. I feel like its the end of an era. But for now, im just going to get all the big bear hugs I can from this guy because hes the bestson in the world. and Im the luckiest mama in the world to have him as my baby boy. Hes gonna kill me for this but I cant help myself!

Things are really hectic here right now. I thought things were supposed to slow down in at the end of summer. But thats not the case here!
I found a bit of time to decorate for Fall. My mantel was beach and summer items and now its all Autumn! The hosue smells of apples and cinnamon and Chrysanthamums "MUMS" abound! As you can see our Sheltie Ginger is not impressed.
We are gearing up for our Annual Fall Portraits in the Park, Each year we have a waiting list and will call you when we have the dates and times ready. Some weekend coming very soon! Be sure Call us and leave your name and number to get on the waiting list! PDixie@sw.rr.com or call 940-761-5111. This limited edition session fee is only $25 (reg $50) and our packages will offer Christmas cards and other new items. A family portrait taken in the fall foliage is something special that will grace your home for many many years to come, and something that you will not grow tired of. Most people tell us that their portrait is "timeless" and looks beautiful hanging in your home , whether in the family room, dinning room or even a hall way over a nice piece of furniture!
I will post some pics so you guys can see how beautiful these family portarits turn out! Thanks for listening!
The decorating saga of my daughters' family home continues. We have done a lot with the living room, dinning room and kitchen but havent even touched the childrens rooms yet or the Master bedroom.
We had a great bunkbed set that we loaned our oldest grandson and I found a great deal on a dresser for him.
Recently I was in Irving Texas with my in laws and passed a yard sale that had this hideous nightstand. It has the most horrible paint job. I dont know what went wrong here, but something went wayyy wrong.
So for the low price of $7. i snagged it and managed to squeeze it into my Ford Fusion backseat.
Im going to strip it and paint and have some ideas of what this unloved sad guy will be transformed into. (Laughing menaically and rubbing hands together. Muuu haahahaha!)
Seriously havent set on a color pallette for Tristans room yet, so not totally sure, but stay tuned for what it turns into soon!
(By the way, have you noticed you cant find a nightstand in this town for less than $99.00??)
One of my very favorite subjects to photograph are babies! I had such a great time with this baby boy. C.D., Ill call him for short. Hes only 2 weeks old but such a cutie pie! Hes growing and eating like a big boy already! His mom and dad were so much fun to talk with, that I felt like I had known them all my life. Isn't it nice when that happens? Here is a little peek for now and Ill post more images of him on Monday. Thanks again to his Mom and dad for letting me into your home and for giving me the privilege of photographing your little man. MORE PICS COMING SOON!
