Thanksgiving

Hi Blog Stalkers! I love all of you! Hey I wanted to tell you about our Thanksgiving hours. Tobe a nice boss to my great employees, Ive decided to close for Thanksgiving AND THE DAY AFTERWARDS, so that they can spend time with their families.

I know you will all understand. Ive had lots of calls from clients wanting to take family portraits the day before or after Thanksgiving and I still have 2 session appointments open the day BEFORE, so give us a call and we'll get that set up with you.

Last year I got a handwritten letter from a very sweet client. (Ive known her for 14 years, she worked at SAFB here and we got to know each other over the years. She is a grandmother and has a big extended family and she hired me to photograph them. If I recall, there was about 16 people total, with babies.
Then suddenly one of her daughter in laws passed away suddenly. She was a young mother and it was devastating to the family.
The letter she wrote me made me cry because she told me how special it was that they had actually gotten lots of photos of her before this happened. Even though there was nothing they could do to ease the pain of this event, the Large Family portrait which graced her wall, gave them all comfort.

I will never forget that. It made me remember how quickly we can loose someone we love. Make sure you tele them today how you feel. (Not many people know this, but I almost lost my life in 1989. Things like that make you really realize how lucky you are, and that God was with me!) Ive had more than my share of tragedies in life. No one gets through life without them. But I am a very thankful person.

I hope you all enjoy your families on Thanksgiving and the rest of the year as well.
Here is my list of things Im grateful this year, 2008.

My List.

1. Im so thankful both of my parents are still living! My dad celebrated just his 80th birthday last month!
2. Im thankful for my children and 2 grandchildren who make me happy and amaze me daily.
3. Im thankful for my health. I don't always get enough sleep or eat the best I can, but God has blessed me with good health and for that I'M VERY THANKFUL.
4. Im so glad to have married a wonderful man who I love dearly. He does so much for us and Im really lucky to have such a great guy. (for 17 years now.)
5. Even though America is not doing as well these days, Im so thankful to be born in these United States, and the time I spent living overseas in Japan made me even more thankful when I landed back on US Soil.! (I kissed the ground when I got back, and do every time I leave the country!)
6. I treasure this gift God gave me of Photography. I wanted to be an ARTIST when I was a littel girl, and thanks to my awesome husband for encouraging me and my blessed clients, I get to do something everyday that makes me happy. :0)

7. I have enough to eat, a home, and clothes on my back and 2 legs that work and 2 arms and lots of friends and a great family. What more could I ask for?

I hope you all make plans to be with family on Thanksgiving. Do what it takes to go and see those you love. And If you cant, then please call Sheppard Air Base and invite a couple of airmen/women over to your home and give them the love and comfort of a Thanksgiving in a loving home. No one should have to be alone on that day.

Sometimes I complain or see the glass half empty, but really I am so super Blessed! And I try to have an attitude of gratitude every day. How about you??

OH! PS Dont forget to turn your clocks back tonight!
Hugs all.....Goodnight.:-)
