Memory Lane.

My sister was going through some of her photos and she sent me this photo. It is she and I and our brother when I was only 5 years old. I remember my mom taking this photo of us in our front yard. I was missing my front tooth, so I'm pretty sure I was 5.

I'm the oldest and the one on the right. I remember my mom taking lots of photos of us all the time. She used to put us in the front yard or backyard and take our picture. I remember I always loved it. She made the dresses my sister and I are wearing. I remember them too.

I wonder if the fact of her always taking our pictures made me in turn, want to be a photographer? Children are so easily influenced at that age. I remember so much about being 5. I remember our address (1405 N. Muskingum street) My best friend Shelly Davis. My kindergarten teacher. Mrs. Lippey. Singing Jesus loves me at the Christian kinder garden school i attended. Eating home made ice cream, drinking Dr. Pepper, making boats out of paper and floating down the street when it rained. Simple pleasures.

My other friends Tianna and Jackson. The Song "Puff the Magic Dragon." The smell of crayons and my moms fried chicken and banana pudding. Playing in my playhouse. This is the age of imagination and I loved exploring mine.
I wish I could back to that time, when I was safe and my daddy was my hero, my moms lap was safety and my best friends backyard was a huge playground. Life was so simple. We weren't rich, but we had everything we needed. Each other. That's what a family is, is having each other. Im so happy to have this photo and others. What power a photograph can hold. Amazing really.
