My "other" passion

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am always redecorating my home and studio. My husband used to come home from out of town, late at night (He used to be a First Officer for United Airlines) and he would trip over the rearranged furniture.

Once after he and I went to Italy for a week, he came home to find I had rented scaffolding and was painting our Family room (the ceiling is 20 feet tall) I was doing a color wash of butter and cappuccino all over the room. (I was inspired by the beautiful colors of Venice and Rome Italy.) Before, I had everything white, cream, ecru with a touch of maroon. Loved all the whites!

I was dangling off the top scaffold trying to reach a corner. I then hired a client of mine to put crown moulding around the top room.

It was a zoo!

Ive had 3 studios and have enjoyed decorating each one. Since I was a little girl, I would tear out pages of magazines and catalogs. I remember once I spent the night at a friends, when I was only in 3rd grade and I cut my visit short because my sister called me to tell me we had gotten a new sofa and I couldn't wait to see it! haha.

Some girls love Jewelry, (my dad is a jeweler but I'm not all that crazy about it.) Some girls love clothes, but me........ I love furniture!

I would change it out every year if my hubby would let me. I have accounts at all the furniture stores, Hamilton Bryan, Ashley, Lacks, Home Accents (next to the Finishing Touch) and often go out of town to Dallas and Oklahoma City in search of new furniture. I love Horchow and Spiegel.

Anyway, I am redoing our Sales room right now Here is an image of my old sales room from about 7 years ago. It was Tangerine. (some called it UT Orange) Every room in our house is different. With "Brown Bag" as the overall main color.

Our guest room is "Robins Egg". I have recently had new granite counter tops put in our kitchen and I removed the wall paper and had a professional painter , do a texture on the walls similar to old plaster.) I glazed it in a coffee and cream glaze.

Here are some items that I'm thinking of adding to our home and studio.

Have a great weekend! I'm shopping online today and playing catch up on editing.
