I was recently featured on a website for photographers. I was chosen as the Photographer of the Week. It was an honor to be chosen. This is what they listed. They asked me strange questions!

Our Photographer of the Week: Dixie Dobbin

My name: Dixie Dobbins Where I reside: Wichita Falls, Texas

What type of photography do you do?: People, animals, commercial , aerial and anything else that walks through the door!

The last software I purchased... Corel Painter 9

My favorite piece of camera equipment... Lens Baby, its a fun gadget to have and is addictive.

3 things I have with me on every shoot... Canon 5D, 300mm lens and Dr. Pepper.

The hardest aspect of my job... To manage my time between clients and administrative duties.

If not a photographer I would have been... A Whale Trainer at Sea World

Best advice I ever received... "Dont compromise or Negotiate"

What I want... I always want to be true to myself, to not compromise my principals, and to travel around the world (ive been to 14 countries so far.)

What I need... Jesus (we all need him)

What I must have... My wonderful family.

Unnaturally obsessed with... Doing good deeds every day for strangers!

A lot of people have been calling and emailing about what type of Easter Special we are running this year.

We've had many people ask us if we are doing live bunnies. We have only done that one year, And I'd be happy to tell you why.

A good friend of mine already does Bunny photos better than I ever could and I respect the fact that he's done this for 2o years!
He is incredible at it and Joe has a special way with children.

Hes photographed my son and our family and hes really great!

He has the most beautiful backgrounds and gets very gentle beautiful bunnies. He has small ones for infants and 1 year olds and larger ones for older children. He sets up his "McGregors Garden" in his studio and its a beautiful wonderful thing.

Amanda

This is beautiful Amanda. She is so lovely, and she keeps in touch with me via email a lot. I love getting her letters, shes very articulate and expresses herself well.

I know that she will excell in a career where she has lots of contact with people. I guess if I had to describe her with only one word I would say "Bubbily".

She's someone that I will always remember! Thank you Amanda!

Morgan!

Living Doll!

This baby girl looks so much like a little doll! Mommy Krystal brought her in with her brother.

They should make dolls to look like her! Shes as adorable as can be.

Ashley!

Isn't Ashley beautiful? Such a sweet little girl.... We are up to our necks with babies! And so many ladies are due soon! Whats in the water? Even my own daughter and son-in-law will be having their second child in May.

Ayden!

What a face baby Ayden has. His daddy is serving in the US Air Force and hes a cutie pie.

And baby makes three.....

I wanted to introduce a family that is very special to me and my family. The father is George and he is a youth pastor. My son really admires George and has learned a lot from him. George and his wife recently had a beautiful baby boy named Drew. Hes precious with tons of dark hair! They are terrific people and I am so grateful they chose me for thier first family portrait. You know there are just some people in this world you thank God for and George and his wife are two of them!

Just look at that adorable smile! Drew is going to be a heartbreaker for sure!

Cutie Karen!

Okay, Is it just me, or does Karen have a striking resemblence to Katie Holmes?

Karen is a very beautiful young lady with many talents. Shes also a lot of fun and doesnt like to wear shoes whenever she can get away with it.

Marcus Rocks!

Hey Yall, This guy is really kewl! I photographed his brother 3 years ago and now its his turn. WOW can he play the guitar!

He's amazing! I was very impressed. He plays both the electric guitar and acoustic. I think he could be famous one day. He really likes 70s Rock and Roll too. Smart guy. :-)

Megan

Hey Yall! Meet Megan! Shes a doll. My office manager has known her mom since before Megan was even born!

Also we had some excitement while she was here. She was so sweet because I had a computer problem while she was here and she had to wait while I finished what I needed to do. She was so sweet and nice that I decided to reward her for that with an additional photo shoot. We got lots of great images, but we are going to do something very unusual and very special soon.
Thank you Megan for being so wonderful. I love your outdoor images in the hat and cammo shirt. You are a sweetheart!

It was a great day of fun!

Tonight I attended a private party with my husband at Sheppard Air Force Base. It was to honor the ENJJPT Steering Comittee program, which my husband has been a part of for 10 years.
Mr. Reno Gustafason arranged for the Clydesdale horses to be here. It was really amazing seeing them in person, how large they are. They are truly magnificent!
I video taped them and shot some images of them as well. It was really a beautiful sight to see them walking in unison.
It was a great celebration with 500 pounds of Barbeque ribs that my husband had cooked all day long! (he started at 11 am this morning)
It was a great day!

Hey Guys, Here is Whitney !

Whitney is so sweet and fun. And to top it off, she has the figure of a model. She is literally perfect. I would love to have her abs!

She drove a long way (64 miles to be exact), for her portrait session.

We had a great time.

Best Friends!

This is Joanna and Callie from Guthrie Texas. They have been good friends for a long time!

They even have their own business making the bandana rags that Cowboys wear. (They are made of Silk!)

They were both so much fun. The sweetest thing is that they told me that they have been wanting to come to me since they were only 12 years old and little girls.

I was very honored that they've been waiting years to come to me.

I so enjoyed them both and their friend Drew who came along as well.

I love these images of them because it portrays their lively spontaneous quirky personalities they have.

Blades of Glory

If you are a fan of Will Ferrell and Jon Heder like our family is, then you'll have to see Blades of Glory! Its a story about 2 professional ice skaters who decide to team up and be the first male/male ice skating pair. ( no women will dare skate with them.)

The previews alone are so funny and the hairstyles on these guys is hillarious.

My hubby and I have "Date night" together,every Friday night and so we will be seeing this one, it will be released March 30th.

Last week we saw Wild Hogs and laughed so hard I blew Dr. Pepper through my nose!

They do say that laughter is the best medicine.

Brittany is a beautiful Blue eyed Blonde. We had a great day. Brittany plays Volleyball, basketball,and runs track. She will be attending school at Western Texas College, where she will play volleyball.

My daughters birthday and Spring is here.

Hello, and Good morning! Today is the 2nd day of Spring!

I just enjoyed my cup of coffee out in my back-yard on the porch swing.

I'ts a beautiful sunrise and beautiful day already. Looking forward to it.

Part of the reason its a beautiful day to me, is this is the day my first child was born. My daughter Misty. Ive got to call her in a little while and wish her happy birthday.

Shes in her early 20s, a beautiful girl, with fair skin, long dark hair, hazel green eyes and a sweet voice.

I'll never forget the day she was born. She wouldn't cry and my Dr. kept thumping her on the feet to get her to cry. She finnally let out a little "WAA!" and it was so sweet. I loved her instantly. I was a young bride then and to have a baby in the spring time was so sweet. I think its mother nature's perfect time for a new life to come into the world.

There is a saying "Babies are Gods way of saying the world should go on.". I wanted to also share with you all, that she and her husband are expecting their second baby in May.

A little boy! A little brother for Tristan.

I still remember very clearly what it was like to be her age, and to be happy, scared and excited all at the same time.

I just love Spring. Take time to enjoy it. Its a time of renewal, of life and freshness. Its a time of hope and of joy.

Take time to look closely at the buds on your trees opening up.

The beautiful soft green color of new leaves. To listen to the baby birds hatching in their nests in the trees. To hear thier little chirps as they wait for food from their mama. I love to watch little colts walking around on their spindly legs. Nothing is cuter than a baby horse. Leggy and wobbly, but perfectly made by our creator.

Springtime is just the best...

Sarah!

Today I got to meet Sarah. Sarah has lots of interests but one of her main loves is horses and barell racing. And WOW is she good too.

Her mom Tina is really nice too. Her mom and I graduated from the same high school in Odessa, Tx. We even had one of the same teachers. (Bug-eye'd Boyd we called her. haha)

Here are a couple of images I shot of her racing tonight. Shes really in control of her horse "Trigger". I got lots of beautiful portraits of Sarah, I'll be posting on Wednesday.

Warm weather is here!

Hey Yall! I hope ya had a good weekend, I had a great one! The weather was great, my son was out on Spring Break and we had a pool party!

I am so glad summer is on its way. I hope it doesnt get too hot too soon.

Sassy Stephanie

Stephanie has that look. She could definetly be a model. The adorable freckles, the hazel eyes, the pretty bone structure. She looks like the models from Russia and the Chec Republic .

We had some great fun today, and went in and out and all over today!

Awesome Amber

This is Amber! We had a great time today. It was perfect weather! Amber is a Senior and will be going to Texas Tech U, (my skool!) and wants to major in Pharmacology.

She enjoys cheerleading and working at a Pharmacy part time. She told me her favorite ice cream flavor is Cookies N Cream.

Shes a beautiful girl and we had a lot of fun with her and her mother.

Ahh The joys of having a teenager!

Well, my handsome son of 14 has some admirers. We've woken up 3 days in a row with cute chalk sayings on our sidewalk each morning.

I admit, my son is pretty special, but then I am biased. Hes intelligent, athletic and as kind as kind can be.

He just turned 14, but the boy is almost 6 foot tall, and weighs in at 210. He can bench press 170 pounds and more each week.

He's an All Star Football player, offensive and defensive lineman. But the thing I'm the most proud of is....

He's a kind hearted young man. (And a Christian)

You cannot keep this boy out of Church! He just wont miss it for nothing! Sometimes he attends 4 or 5 events a week!

The youth pastors love him to pieces because he is an excellent example of what a young man should be.

He's also on the honor roll and straight As for 3 years now. He also plays Football, Basketball and is in Track. Whatsmore, He's in PALS and he loves the Lord.

What more could a Mama and Daddy want?

Now, hes got some admirers who recognize what we've recognized for years.

Okay okay, enough boasting about my only son. Feel free to email me your praises of your child! I dont mind at all. In fact I might publish it here!

Spring Has Sprung!

As my dad says "Spring Has Sprung, Fall has fell, summer is here and its hotter than usual."

Hes funny like that.

All the Pear Trees in our neighborhood are blossoming right now and its just so beautiful!

I took this of my tree just this morning.

I love love love trees.

Im from West Texas where its even hotter than here, and a tree is your best friend. In fact my moms last home was bought based on the decision of the Giant tree in the backyard.

Enjoy Spring, the weather.. is just picture perfect. I'll be in and outside today, I have photo sessions all day and I hope it stays nice.

Jacob!

What a delightful guy! I laughed and laughed! Jacob is a Senior and I photographed his sister a couple of years ago. Both he and his sister has crystal blue eyes. Jacob had me laughing so much my cheeks hurt! (dont make me laugh when my lips are chapped!)

Jacobs a great guy and he brightens up the place whereever he goes! Thanks Jacob!

From Time to time I have photographed young ladies for Modeling Portfolios.

I first photographed Belinda 10 years ago, and she is even more beautiful than she was the first time I met her!

I suspect her modeling career will go far.

She could definely be a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader too.

I will be doing several more shoots of her for her Portfolio. Thank you Belinda for entrusting me.

Special family

This is adorable Lily and her parents.

I love capturing images of parents and child, because as a Mother of 2 and Grandmother (he calls me Grammy!) of one, I know how quickly children grow up.

This is a very special family Ive known for several years. I photographed Daddy several years ago and now hes serving in the armed forces.
