What Will Matter.

"Rainbow over the Hawaian island of Kauai."

WHAT WILL MATTER, By Michael Josephson

Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end.
There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days.
All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else.

Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance.
It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed.
Your grudges, resentments, frustrations and jealousies will finally disappear.
So too your hopes, ambitions, plans and to-do lists will expire.

The wins and losses that once seemed so important will fade away.
It won't matter where you came from or what side of the tracks you lived on at the end.
It won't matter whether you were beautiful or brilliant.
Even your gender and skin color will be irrelevant.
So what will matter? How will the value of your days be measured?

What will matter is not what you bought but what you built,
not what you got but what you gave.

What will matter is not your success but your significance.
What will matter is not what you learned but what you taught.
What will matter is every act of integrity, compassion, courage, or sacrifice that enriched, empowered or encouraged others to emulate your example.

What will matter is not your competence but your character.
What will matter is not how many people you knew, but how many will feel a lasting loss when you’re gone.

What will matter is not your memories but the memories that live in those who loved you.
What will matter is how long you will be remembered, by whom and for what.

Living a life that matters doesn't happen by accident. It's not a matter of circumstance but of choice.
Choose to live a life that matters.

Uplifting Music

This photo is of the Christan band called BARLOW GIRL.
Just wanted to share something with my clients and friends.
I created this blog for 90% my clients and about 10% personal stuff.
Well heres something personal for you.
My friends know that I have a beautiful daughter (MISTY) who is 25, and lives in West Texas.
She is going through a very rough time in her life right now. (VERY HARD TIME)

I dont know about others, but Music is really healing for me.
I burned a CD for my daughter today with several songs that I find so uplifting.
Here is a list of the songs!
They are christian songs that you can download from I Tunes or purchase at your favorite music store.
Heres my top favorite Songs these days.
1. "I AM" by Mark Schultz
2. "WHAT IF" by Nichole Nerdeman
3. "GOD OF WONDERS" by THIRD DAY
4. "SHOW ME YOUR GLORY" by THIRD DAY.
5. "MY JESUS" by Todd Agnew
6. "VOICE OF TRUTH" Casting Crowns
7. "GONE" by Toby Mac
There are some other songs, but these 7 are my favorites.
Check them out if you arnt familar with them. They keep me strong and give me great peace.
And they have a good beat too!

Also, in my hometown area of Midland Odessa, there will be the annual ROCK THE DESERT with Christan bands coming up soon (July 27-29th) There will be a lot of bands there including Bethany Dillion http://www.bethanydillon.com and Kutlass and Barlow girl and many more!!!

Duncans Filling Station

This is Duncans Filling Station in IdaLou Texas.
This is a technique I do to photographs using Photoshop and digital software.
It renders it as a artistic piece.
I love photographing old gas stations and have a huge collection of photographs of old gas stations and old cars and trucks. Mostly i like the ones from the 50s and 60s.
Places like this remind me of road trips with my dad when I was a kid.
ENJOY!

Amber & Adam

These beautiful flower girls were at Adam and Ambers wedding last Saturday.
This technique is called Selective color where most of the image is Black and white and only a portion of it is in color. I used to do this effect
back in 1988 by hand. By using special paints, dyes and pencils. Ive been doing it digitally since 1999. I think the effect is so pretty.

Sisterly Love

These beautiful sisters were flower girls at a recent wedding
I photographed. They remind me so much of my sister and I when we were little.
I enjoy photographing the children at weddings as much as the couple.

Space Station & Shuttle

Well here is an image I shot of the Space Shuttle on Friday as it passed over Wichita Falls at 9:46 pm. It seems to have a green cast to it similar to Plasma or superheated air possibly?
What is so cool is the shuttle is docked with the space station as it delivers supplies.
My interest in Space comes from many reasons. One being that my dad is a huge metorite collector! Ive found them myself in West Texas. The other reason is that my husband and I are friends with Jim Kelly, a Shuttle Pilot and astronaut of the Discovery, and the third reason is...one of my photography instructors at Texas Tech University did lots of photography of the moon and planets.
So anyway. Just wanted to share this image!
CHeck out more info on the internet about the Shuttle and space news. Its really amazing to learn about!
Enjoy!

Space Shuttle over Wichita Falls tonight!

THANK GOODNESS ITS FRIDAY!
Did you know that the Space Station flew over Wichita Falls tonight? Around 9:45 pm. It really went across the sky very fast. It traveled from the direction of Amarillo towards Dallas. By the time I came indoors, and checked the NASA website, it was already over the Panama Canal.
It sure traveled quickly!
It is traveling about 17,219 miles per hour! Thats pretty darn fast.

My husband used to work with James (Jim) Kelly, who is an Astronaut and Discovery Pilot for Nasa. (We lovingly used to call him "VEGAS" ) . This was right before we moved to Wichita Falls a few years ago. He went through Pilot Training here at Sheppard Air Force Base and is a really nice guy!
He was a F-15 pilot with my husband in Okinawa Japan.
For more info about Jim , check him out here at http://www.aea12.k12.ia.us/rerc/kelly.html

Also, I got a great photo of the Moon tonight too! The space shuttle was traveling so fast, the 2 photos I took of it are blurry and small.
But I did get a great shot of the moon!
Have a good weekend!
